Hi, my name is Sam and I completed my VCE at De La Salle College, Malvern, in 2017.
I’m currently studying a double of materials engineering and biomedicine at Monash university, entering my second year. I always love constantly learning new, challenging things, particularly if they’re maths or science related. When I don’t have my head in the books I enjoy running on cold mornings, reading absurdly explosive action novels on my Kindle, listening to the impeccable dance-pop hits of the early 2010s and catching up with friends.
Before coming to Tom’s Tutoring I’ve tutored students privately, and through these experiences as well as my own academic endeavours, I’ve found that learning content is only part of the battle for achieving successful results. The students who obtain satisfying results are the ones who have the right mentality towards study; the ones who are confident and comfortable with their learning and the ones who can maintain a good balance between study and the rest of their lives, leading to a positive mental health which I believe is crucial for success. Whilst tutoring, I like to focus on teaching content in a hopefully concise and easy to understand manner, as well as coaching this positive outlook towards study for the students. I look forward to meeting you all!
