Hi, I’m Ella, and I graduated from Caulfield Grammar School in 2018, and am currently studying a double degree of Laws/Arts at Monash University. My high school experience was full of activities external to the academic programs, including debate, speech, editorial, sport and student committee positions; and I hope to continue this trajectory during my time at university. Outside of my studies, I am passionate about wellness, in the forms of cooking, baking, and enjoying the outdoors!
Personally, my tutoring style is quite holistic – it is my belief that, especially in writing subjects, one needs to view the topics of their studies with a wider breadth of contextual knowledge. I know what you’re thinking – sounds complex! However, I view gaining a more ‘overall’ understanding of a topic to actually simplify writing a coherent argument, as students become less focused on the minutiae and ‘retelling’ aspects of what they are studying – exactly what examiners are seeking to reward!
Each student’s learning processes and difficulties are unique – meaning that, in turn, my tutoring style is adaptable and individualised to the needs of the student. Ultimately, my personal experience and drive to produce my best possible work within VCE led to many tried and true strategies for developing both the skill of writing and one’s understanding within the humanities subjects I undertook – culminating in my achievement of a perfect 50 study score in English, a subject that I remain passionate and enthusiastic about to this day.
I look forward to meeting with you!
